For the logo I made
for Synopticity Productions I wanted to keep the simplistic theme that was
evident in the logos I analysed earlier. Just like the other production
company's logos, I shortened the name in the logo, but instead of an anagram I
played with the meaning of the words within the name, and came up with
S-City.
Just like the BBC
logo I used rectangle boxes, an easy and simple shape, as the background to the
letters, but let them shape a city together, emphasising the 'city' part of the
name. The shading of the buildings were meant to represent how the company
had its roots in the society and that they are part of the foundation of
society. Going from the top moving downwards, from light to dark, representing
that the sky is the limit and that a good foundation (represented by the
company and their name at the bottom) can get you anywhere.
While the text is
written in white, the colour surrounding the text is black, this is to
represent how the products and the company itself is the light in the darkness,
here to brighten up your day and is better than rivalling companies (who don't
stand a chance).
What is seemingly white,
above the buildings, is actually transparent, so that when the logo is shown the
sky will be represented with whatever background there is for the specific
product. This makes it seem a bit more personalised and specific for each
product.
